The Book of Dark Spells was meant to never be used. Anyone that is of Pure Good Magic, that casts a spell from this book, could loose all their Magical Powers and be turned human. However, after the Rangers were captured and taken to the underworld, Udonna had no choice but to cast a spell from this book, and transport herself to the Underworld to save the Rangers.
